(Site Of) Abandoned Structure, Highway 16, WI 2009 © jwlI spent some time out on the country roads of WI last week. I had a wonderful day. I decided to retrace some steps that I had taken a few years ago and try and make art along the way. I found a space that I had been in on the last journey and decided to document what was there (or not). I also photographed the pile of wood that was once this structure (not pictured).
This is not new phenomenon for me, but it never gets easier. I am not sure what it means to me, but I spend a great deal of time with these spaces, albeit in photographic form, and so when they disappear from view I get a feeling of loss.
